We are often asked why people live under bridges and in abandoned buildings when missions and large shelters are available.  The mentally ill homeless often can't handle the large crowds and regimentation of traditional shelters.  Servants Center is the only organization in the Grand Rapids area that actively goes out searching for homeless persons suffering from neurological brain diseases, commonly known as mental illnesses.  Their numbers are overwhelming.
